Experts, when supplying hot-rolled head steel plates to head manufacturers, the steel plates are initially in a normalized and slightly cooled state. Hot rolling of the heads alters this original state of the steel plates, resulting in lower strength in the plates after rolling. Moreover, the head manufacturers refuse to normalize and slightly cool the plates again after rolling. What methods exist to ensure that the strength of the steel plates remains the same as before rolling?
Why would the end cap factory refuse? Who is the customer and who is the supplier?
This can only be heat-treated again according to the heat treatment condition of the steel plate; if this requirement was not submitted to the head factory earlier, it can only be resolved through negotiation.
Currently, most end-cap manufacturers do not possess the normalizing technology used in steel mills, and the normalizing technology of steel mills is also kept secret.
Thermal forming will definitely damage the condition of the steel plate; either cold forming is used (it seems not to work well for thick plates), or the temperature must be controlled depending on the material. But I think it’s better to carry out heat treatment again – that’s what is usually done
In this situation, the only option is to undergo re-heat treatment in order to restore the mechanical properties of the steel plate to its original heat-treated state. The head manufacturing factory will not carry out this process, but it can be done by oneself; remember to include a test plate for verification along with the head!
If this cannot be achieved, then it’s likely that even the normal heat treatment methods we use won’t meet the requirements, which is certainly unreasonable.
