Pressure transmitter installation

If it remains under negative pressure, it’s not necessary. But we need to consider the time when the furnace is shut down.

1. When installing a vacuum gauge in a high-temperature furnace, how should the pressure tap be connected to the pressure transmitter? I noticed that in some setups there is a U-shaped tube connected to the pressure tap; is there liquid inside that U-shaped tube? Set the upper and lower limits of the transmitter; the pressure lead can be connected directly to the transmitter. The U-tube is likely used for insulation, as it is employed in measurements within high-temperature furnaces. 2. How should a pressure transmitter for measuring steam be installed? We are using transmitters with 4-inch external threads; can it be installed in the same way as a pressure gauge, by using a buffer tube before connecting the transmitter? It’s possible. 3. To measure the pressure of the liquid in the pipeline, a pressure tap is used to connect it to the pressure transmitter; is it necessary to set up a drain? If the transmitter is above the measurement point, it may not be necessary; however, if it is below, a drain pipe generally needs to be installed.

1. The pressure lead can be connected directly to the transmitter, but care must be taken to prevent fluid accumulation inside the pressure lead. When a liquid is filled in the U-tube, the pressure value can be calculated based on the difference in liquid levels on both sides. 2. It’s possible in principle, but I’ve never seen it; usually a condensation tank is installed. 3. It is necessary to install a sewage discharge system for easy maintenance.
