What is fault hazard analysis?
Fault hazard analysis is a method, rather than an analysis type. However, this method requires information related to the system, but such information is only available toward the later stages of the development cycle. Fault hazard analysis is useful for an operating system that employs system safety. Fault hazard analysis is an inductive method, with the basic form of analysis proceeding from the specific to the general. In this way, during the fault hazard analysis process, components or events are examined to determine their impact on the safety of the system or subsystems. To determine the hazardous modes of components, the causes of hazards, and the actual impact on the system or subsystems, a detailed investigation of the system or subsystems is required. For each selected component in the system, two issues need to be addressed during fault hazard analysis: ① How can this component fail? ; ②What kind of failures will such a malfunction cause in the system or subsystems? Each component has more than one mode of failure, and each mode of failure poses a risk to some normal system function. Briefly describe the impact on the system based on the damage or dysfunction resulting from the likelihood and severity of the hazard. However, a comprehensive failure hazard analysis can only be carried out once the system is fully determined and the information required for such an analysis is obtained.
