How to handle the large amount of process data generated by DCS

Our plant’s DCS system is from Honeywell, and it generates a large amount of data related to temperature, pressure, flow rate, level, analysis results, valve positions, etc., during operation – the volume of data is really substantial! These data are automatically deleted after being stored for half a year, which seems like a waste, but I’m not sure what to do with such a large amount of data ? I wonder how other sailors handle this situation
Copy it to a CD, then make a label or index, and store it in a cabinet.
If it’s deleted, then it’s deleted; the old data is completely useless anyway.
Add a network storage device and then export it periodically.
Is there any way for online backup? It’s not easy to do it the way mentioned above either
Unless there are any major changes, these data will be useless once they expire!
An OPC server can be used for analyzing data from production systems, such as generating cost analysis reports or analyzing process parameters.

It’s sufficient to record a few representative sets of data, such as data related to equipment startup and shutdown, data under abnormal conditions, stable data under normal conditions, comparative data before and after adjustments, trend data during the adjustment process, normal data for winter and summer, and comparative data when a certain device is in use versus when it isn’t. All other data is useless; storing it serves no purpose and only takes up disk space
Generally, perform trend backups once every six months! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
