A sulfuric acid production plant in Guizhou with a capacity of 200,000 tons per year was commissioned on January 30, 2015. Currently, the pressure at the fan outlet is 33 kPa, at the boiler outlet it is 21 kPa, and at the outlet of the first stage it is 9.9 kPa. The production volume is only 490 tons per day; the steam generated is not sufficient to meet the needs of the entire plant. The speed of the turbine fans is 4,200 revolutions per minute.
The boiler resistance was only 3 kPa on October 30; Section 1 of the conversion unit has been cleaned twice already, and now the fan is experiencing surge

There is not enough steam; the temperature in the sulfur incineration furnace is 1080°C, while the temperature at the boiler outlet is 365°C – the resistance is too high. The fan is surging.

What is the outlet pressure specified for your fans? Is it located in front of or behind the drying tower? It’s also possible that the corundum protection tube at the inlet of the waste heat boiler has deformed due to high temperatures. How is your liquid sulfur filter performing? Sometimes the impurities in sulfur can easily clog the filters and the vanadium catalyst in a section of the converter
