China’s first high-efficiency and clean coal gasification production system that utilizes rotary technology has recently passed the project evaluation by the Shandong Provincial Department of Science and Technology. This system was developed by Shandong United Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as “United Energy”), with the participation of institutions such as Tsinghua University, Shandong University, and the Shandong Coal Design Institute. “If all 90 thermal power plants in our province adopt this technology, based on a total capacity of 9 million kilowatts, it will be possible to save 13.5 million tons of standard coal per year, as well as reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 27 million tons. ”Zhang Changdong, chairman of United Energy, told reporters. Zhang Changdong explained that this system utilizes the “L-shaped horizontal rotary wave-bed gasification production system” technology, which overcomes the limitations of foreign fluidized-bed gasification technologies. It creates a low-energy, high-efficiency gasification process that uses ordinary coal as raw material and relies on establishing an optimal heat exchange environment as its key technical approach, thereby providing more opportunities for the efficient and clean utilization of China’s abundant reserves of ordinary coal. “After adopting this technology and equipment, existing thermal power plants consume only 238 grams of standard coal per kilowatt of electricity generated, which is a 40% reduction compared to the current national average of 380 grams. The environmental performance also improves significantly, with sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide emissions reduced by over 70% compared to traditional direct coal combustion technologies, enabling compliance with Europe’s strictest emission standards. ”Zhang Changdong said that this technology has already been adopted by Tengzhou Thermal Power Plant, and the construction of the related project is in active preparation.
Good news, congratulations – speed up the promotion!
