The tap water we drink every day has been treated with polymeric aluminum chloride. Polyaluminum chloride is a water purification agent, an inorganic polymer coagulant, commonly referred to as polyalumina, with the abbreviation PAC. Polyaluminum chloride is mainly used for water and wastewater purification, industrial water purification, municipal sewage treatment, industrial wastewater treatment, the paper industry, and as a raw material in cosmetics. It is obtained through a positive-pressure reaction between aluminum hydroxide and salts and acids, followed by pressure filtration and spray drying. Inorganic polymer water treatment agents with high molecular weight and high charge, produced by the bridging action of hydroxide ions and the polymerization of polyvalent anions. In terms of form, there are solid and liquid types. PACs of different colors differ significantly in production and application. PAC polyaluminum chloride features good stability during spray drying, wide applicability in various water bodies, fast hydrolysis rate, strong adsorption capacity, rapid densification and sedimentation, low erosion level of the effluent, and excellent dewatering performance. PAC products produced by spray drying ensure safety, reduce water-related accidents, and are very safe and reliable for residents’ drinking water. Therefore, during the Spring Festival every year, all companies can take time off to rest, but water treatment chemical manufacturers must continue to produce in order to ensure a steady supply of polyaluminum chloride and meet everyone’s needs for drinking water.
