For the plasticizer products manufactured by the company, tetrabutyl titanate and sulfuric acid are primarily used as catalysts. The color intensity of the DOTP produced is quite high; could you advise on ways to reduce this color intensity?
How is sulfuric acid used? Tetrabutyl titanate is generally used. I wonder what materials are used to produce it?
For DOTP produced using purified terephthalic acid, a color value of ≤40 is acceptable. It’s not necessarily the case when using pool material; depending on the grade of the raw material, there are different color codes. Produced from PET waste, it can be below grade 200.

Hello, if the processing method is not convenient for experimentation, you can consider other approaches to carry out decolorization and reduce color intensity. I am not familiar with your manufacturing process. If we are talking solely about decolorization, I have used resin adsorption in many cases, and there have been successful outcomes. 1. Adjust the feeding ratio to control the end temperature. 2. Inert gas protection. 3. Neutralize and separate thoroughly. 4. When removing alcohol, pay attention to the heating rate, stripping pressure, and vacuum level. 5. Pay attention to the decolorization capacity of activated carbon. The key is to figure out which step is causing the color to darken. If there really is no other option, hydrogen peroxide combined with activated carbon can be used for treatment.
