Does glycerin require consideration for electrical explosion protection?

Glycerin (glycerol) belongs to Class B flammable liquids, with a flash point of 177 degrees and a saturated vapor pressure of 0.4 KPa at 20 degrees Celsius. Data on the lower and upper explosion limits are not available, nor are they listed in GB50058; however, there are substances such as transformer oil that have similar properties. Does electrical explosion protection need to be considered for such media? Some designers believe it is necessary, as it is after all a flammable liquid that emits vapor at room temperature. The substances listed in GB50058 are given as examples; any substances with similar properties should also be considered for explosion protection. Some designers believe it is not necessary, on the grounds that explosion limit data is unavailable, and it is also not listed in GB50058.
