A joke at work: a 0 and an 8

Today, the production supervisor from the workshop came to my office and asked me why the length of the protrusion at the connection point on the component diagram didn’t match that shown in the overall design diagram. I checked the diagrams: it was component 518, while in the overall design it was 510. Hmm, that can’t be right; I haven’t changed those dimensions at all. Later, when we looked at the scanned version in our archive, we found that it was a scan of the 510 model. Later, I told the workshop supervisor that the middle part of the “0” must have been contaminated by oil, which is why it looked like an 8; yet you proceeded with using 518. I took it to the manager’s office to explain the situation. The manager touched the drawing, and miraculously, the bars in the 0 disappeared; P
