The pressure difference at the slag outlet of our company’s gasification unit fluctuates quite frequently; recently, these fluctuations have even taken on negative values. What could be causing this? Have everyone encountered the same situation! Let’s bring it up for discussion and exchange! The slag port pressure difference in our company is measured by a differential pressure gauge; one end of this gauge measures the pressure in the pressure lead pipe at the top of the gasification furnace, while the other end measures the pressure in the syngas outlet pipeline of the quench chamber (less than 1 meter away from the syngas outlet of the quench chamber). There is no issue with the instruments. According to Haiyou’s response, there might be foam entrained at the pressure tapping point of the synthetic gas pipeline, and this could be a possible cause. But there must be other reasons as well; please think about it more. After parking, inspection revealed that there was sediment buildup in the pipeline between the synthesis gas pipe and the Venturi scrubber.
It is likely caused by poor slag discharge.
How do the slurry flow rate and the outlet pressure of the slurry pump change when the pressure difference fluctuates? When the pressure difference is negative, does the outlet pressure of the slurry pump momentarily become lower than the pressure in the gasifier?
Where is the specific design location of the syngas outlet pressure gauge on yours?
It might be that large fluctuations in furnace temperature cause changes in the size of the slag hole.
Have you encountered this situation? I’m unable to measure the temperature inside my furnace; I’m using a gasification furnace with water-cooled walls powered by water-coal slurry, and the temperature inside the furnace serves only as a reference value for relative temperature changes.
It has been inspected inside the furnace, and the size of the slag outlet is within the normal range.
Please keep thinking and analyze where the problem lies!
Is the water-cooled wall coal-water slurry furnace a Tsinghua furnace? What type of coal is used as raw material, and what is its ash melting point? How is slag discharge handled?
