4.1 Function of the breather valve: When a slight positive pressure or slight negative pressure occurs inside the equipment, the breather valve can expel gas outward or draw gas inward, thereby keeping the pressure inside the equipment within a specified range and preventing damage caused by excessive positive pressure or vacuum conditions. 4.2 Under normal conditions, the breather valve remains closed, which helps to reduce environmental pollution caused by the release of gases from the storage tank. The breather valve generally comes into use only during feeding or discharging. Maintenance and inspection of the breather valve: 1. During normal operation, that is, when material is being fed in or taken out, it is necessary to pay attention to any fluctuations in pressure inside the equipment. If such fluctuations occur, even if they are minor, operations should be stopped immediately to determine the cause. The breathing valve must be installed in the direction indicated; installation in the reverse direction is strictly prohibited. The breathing valve should be removed once a month; the valve body should be opened to check whether the valve disc and the interior of the valve body are blocked, rusted, or stuck. No lubricants or corrosion inhibitors shall be applied inside the valve disc or the valve body. Before operation, it must be carried out by a qualified person, and the capacity must not exceed the specified limit
Because both lubricants and corrosives have a certain viscosity and can pick up dust, this raises the pressure level at which the breathing valve operates; in other words, it fails to activate when it should.
