The company’s fire water system and circulating cooling water system (intercooled open type) are connected by a single pipeline, with valves used for control. The circulating water system is a proprietary installation, and its operation and maintenance are the responsibility of the company ; Fire-fighting water is supplied by an external party and can be isolated using valves. The idea of using a jumper was put forward by management; it is not included in the design drawings. Management’s consideration is that fire-fighting water is needed for cleaning the site, which can be temporarily provided by the recirculation water system. I referred to the \"Code for Design of Circulating Cooling Water Systems in the Chemical Industry\" GB 50648-2011, clause 3.1.9: The sump and water intake tank located beneath the cooling tower in a circulating cooling water system shall not be used as fire water tanks; this clause is mandatory. You can think differently! If your purpose is to clean, then simply state that circulating water is used for cleaning, although that isn’t entirely appropriate either.

I can understand the rationale behind national standards to some extent; it’s just a discussion about whether they meet the relevant specifications. In fact, I support such proposals as they are practical:victory:
The reason for national standards requiring separation is that using them together poses potential risks. It can be assumed that under normal circumstances, circulating cooling water is used only temporarily during cleaning, so there should be no problems. However, there is a risk that the valves might remain open once they start to be used frequently; in such a case, a large amount of fire-fighting water could be used up, depleting the water in the circulating cooling system and potentially causing other accidents in production. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid such shortcut approaches, as safety is of utmost importance.
