I suddenly thought of a question today: is there a minimum requirement for the height difference between the highest and lowest points of the U-shaped water seal in the sewer pipes? If the height difference is too small, could the water flow be emptied due to siphon effect or inertial forces? Can a conclusion be drawn through calculation? PS: Is it a U“shaped” bend or a U“type” bend? Please share your thoughts, thank you.
The probability of full pipe flow is still low; a siphon effect is unlikely. I’ve always used the “U” shape; I’ve also seen those that use the “shape” type, as well as different shapes and models. That shape might be more reasonable.
