I have only been working in the pressure vessel industry for a short time. When I went to the workshop, I noticed that some of the vessels had relatively large corners. Does this have any impact on pressure vessels?
Excessive sharp edges, especially in the longitudinal welds, can cause local bending stresses to combine with film stresses, posing a risk to the container.
For pressure vessels under internal pressure, excessive edge angles can cause stress concentration, posing a risk to their operation. For nested vessels, excessive edge angles make subsequent assembly more difficult. For pressure vessels under external pressure, excessive edge angles and ellipticity reduce the maximum external pressure they can withstand, making them more prone to instability when the tolerances are tight
In fact, it is quite difficult for ordinary manufacturing enterprises to meet **the standards; in actual production, we generally make decisions based on factors such as the pressure medium used. Generally, categories 1 and 2 are not subject to much oversight, unless the levels exceed the standards by a significant amount.
