A large amount of foam is generated during aeration in the MBR system; since the membrane is built-in, the foam accumulates outside the tank.
The temporary solution is to use water spraying. The reason is that there are large amounts of surfactants in the raw water, which allows the water intake to be reduced appropriately.
Possible reasons include excessive COD and nitrogen levels in the incoming water, or a sludge concentration that has not been developed to an appropriate level; the amount of water entering should be reduced
If it is milky white foam, it may be due to an excessive organic load； If it is colored foam, there may be too much detergent in the water; if it is darker and the foam contains sludge, it could be due to excessive aeration or aged sludge.
