Why are devices such as waste heat boilers and propylene cryocoolers fed from the top rather than from the bottom?

What are the advantages of feeding an propylene cryocooler from the top? Is the flashed propylene mainly the newly incoming propylene or the existing liquid propylene in the cryocooler?
In both cases, the liquid phase vaporizes instantly upon entering, and the gas rises upward; if feeding is done from the top, the gas will mix more thoroughly within the equipment. As for where the flashed propylene comes from, it depends on the process requirements; it’s just my personal opinion, and it may not be correct
