There are two issues regarding the product welding test plates that need to be discussed: 1. What is the purpose of the welding tests? It should be to verify the correctness of the welding process by examining the mechanical properties of the test plates. 2. As for the number of test plates required, if both the tube side and shell side of a heat exchanger need to undergo heat treatment – with the tube side thickness being 8 mm and the shell side thickness 12 mm – how many test plates are needed if the same welding process is to be used? Our approach is to produce just 1 piece, since the thickness ratio between the tube side and shell side is within a range of 2 times, and the process qualification can cover this situation; I’m not sure if that’s correct
Question 2 was incorrect: it is necessary to conduct welding test plates for both the tube side and the shell side, but heat treatment is required for both alike
