May I ask how to remove the color from pharmaceutical wastewater (traditional Chinese medicine wastewater)?
Do not use chemicals or activated carbon for now. First, it is necessary to determine what causes the coloration of the water, and treatment must be applied based on that cause. If it is due to the dissolution of organic substances, then decomposing those organic substances is the best way to reduce color intensity. If they are solid particles, they will settle or flocculate.
Generally, a decolorizing agent is added during the physical-chemical treatment stage to remove color, while for biochemical treatment effluent, oxidizing agents such as hydrogen peroxide, calcium hypochlorite, and ozone are used, or activated carbon is employed for decolorization.
