Answer: Project management is the application of theoretical knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities in order to meet or even exceed the needs and expectations of those involved in the project. To meet or exceed the needs and expectations of the people involved in a project, we need to find a balance among the following conflicting requirements: 1. Scope, time, cost, and quality ; 2. Personnel involved in projects with different needs and expectations ; 3. Explicitly stated requirements (demands) and implicitly stated requirements (expectations). ““Project management” is sometimes described as an organizational approach to managing continuous operations. This approach should more accurately be called “management by project implementation,” which involves treating many aspects of continuous operations as projects so that project management methods can be applied to them. Although an understanding of project management is clearly very important for an organization that manages projects through implementation, how to achieve this through project implementation management is beyond the scope of this article.
I searched on Baidu, hehe. Project management is a branch of management science that involves the use of specialized knowledge, skills, tools, and methods in project activities to ensure that projects meet or exceed established requirements and expectations, all within the constraints of limited resources. Project management is the overall framework for various activities (such as tasks) related to successfully achieving a set of objectives. This includes planning, scheduling, and monitoring the progress of the activities that make up the project. The scope of project management: It is the management process of controlling the work tasks of a project in order to achieve its objectives. It includes defining the scope, planning the scope, and adjusting the scope, etc. Project management time: It refers to the series of management processes aimed at ensuring that the project is completed on time in the end. It includes tasks such as defining specific activities, sequencing them, estimating time requirements, scheduling progress, and controlling time. The cost of project management is the management process aimed at ensuring that the actual costs and expenses associated with completing a project do not exceed the budgeted costs and expenses. It includes tasks such as resource allocation, budgeting for costs and expenses, and cost control. The quality of project management: It refers to a series of management processes implemented to ensure that the project meets the quality requirements specified by the client. It includes quality planning, quality control, and quality assurance, etc. ““Project management” is sometimes described as an organizational approach to managing continuous operations. This approach should more accurately be called “management by project implementation,” which involves treating many aspects of continuous operations as projects so that project management methods can be applied to them.
1. Project management contracting, abbreviated as PMC, refers to the provision of full-process services for construction projects by project management companies. That is, during the decision-making phase of engineering projects, to provide the client with planning advice, project development services, financing support, assistance in preparing project proposals and feasibility studies, as well as conducting feasibility analyses ; During the preparation phase of engineering projects, this involves preparing tender documents for the owner, drafting and reviewing base prices, conducting preliminary assessments of the qualifications of bidding companies, drafting contract texts, and assisting the owner in signing contracts with the winning bidder ; During the project implementation phase, it provides the client with services such as engineering design, procurement management, construction management, preliminary design, and review of estimates and budgets ; During the completion phase of construction projects, services such as financial settlement audit, quality assessment, trial operation, completion acceptance, and post-evaluation are provided to the client ; Represent the owner in managing and controlling the quality, safety, schedule, cost, contracts, and information related to the construction project. Project management contracting enterprises should generally receive the corresponding remuneration and rewards as stipulated in the contract, and bear the relevant management risks and financial responsibilities. 2. Project management services, abbreviated as PM, refer to consulting services provided by project management companies in accordance with the contract terms, to carry out a certain phase of project management or a combination of various PMC tasks. Project management service companies only assume the management responsibilities stipulated in the contract and receive corresponding compensation.
My understanding: Within a certain period of time and within a specific range of estimates, completing a task with quality – the process of organizing and carrying out this task is what is called project management.
Project management, abbreviated as PM, refers to the manager of a project who, under limited resource constraints, uses systematic approaches, methods, and theories to effectively manage all the tasks involved in the project. That is, to plan, organize, direct, coordinate, control, and evaluate the entire process from the investment decision-making stage of a project to its completion, in order to achieve the project’s objectives. A project refers to a series of unique, complex, and interrelated activities that have a clear goal or purpose, and must be completed within specific time, budget, and resource constraints, in accordance with established standards. Project parameters include project scope, quality, cost, time, and resources.
Reply 1# terephthalic Project management refers to the process in which a company specialized in project management (hereinafter referred to as a project management firm) is entrusted by the client to carry out management and oversight of the entire project or certain phases of it, in accordance with the terms of the contract. Project management companies do not sign contracts directly with the general contractor of a project, nor with companies involved in surveying, design, supply, construction, etc. However, as stipulated in the contract, they can assist the client in signing such contracts with the general contractor or the other relevant companies, and they are entrusted by the client to supervise the fulfillment of those contracts. The specific methods of project management, as well as the services provided, authorities, fees, and responsibilities, are agreed upon by the owner and the project management company in the contract.

Complex and changing environments mean changes and adjustments to goals. Accomplishing a task means achieving the project objectives (major objectives: the company’s strategic goals; minor objectives: goals set at the lower levels). Definition: Project management involves applying knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities in order to meet the project’s requirements. Project management is divided into 9 knowledge areas: integrated management, scope management, time management, cost management, quality management, human resource management, communication management, risk management, and procurement management
Progress management, technical management, personnel management, communication and coordination, quality management
