May I ask the teachers why combustion oil should be injected only when the catalyst covers the nozzle?
The burning oil is allowed to adhere to the catalyst and burn, thereby raising the temperature (which is why the catalyst temperature is kept above 380 degrees, the auto-ignition temperature of diesel), rather than the oil and fire igniting directly as in a secondary combustion chamber.
It is the catalyst that needs to be heated; how can it be heated if it isn’t submerged?

The burning oil needs to be deposited on the catalyst for combustion and temperature rise (which is also why the catalyst temperature is kept above 380 degrees, the auto-ignition temperature of diesel); it should not ignite directly like in a secondary combustion chamber. After all, it is the catalyst that needs to be heated, and how can it be heated if it isn’t submerged?
When submerged, it is sprayed directly onto the catalyst, resulting in a faster self-ignition rate compared to when it is not submerged. Especially when rapid heating is required in emergency situations.
Spraying combustion oil essentially means raising the bed temperature, and raising the bed temperature in turn means raising the catalyst temperature.
If not sprayed on the catalyst, it instantly turns into a torch with a temperature of over 1200 degrees.
