Regarding how to extend the time before packing clogging in a packed tower (Bauer ring packing) for polymerizable substances, in order to minimize shutdowns, the polymerizable substances in question are primarily acrylic acid
I’m not in your industry, so I can only make guesses. I think it comes down to controlling the degree of aggregation – the higher the degree of aggregation, the more likely blockages will occur. This is just my personal opinion; it may not be correct.
In fact, materials that are prone to aggregation are not suitable for use in packed towers.
The gaps in the Pall ring itself are relatively small; why not try a low flow rate or a low molecular weight?

I heard that some companies in the same industry have modified the towers and fillers, which allows for cleaning to be done every 2 or 3 months instead of once every 30 days
It is recommended to consider what factors may promote the polymerization reaction; if the reaction is endothermic, then explore whether it is possible to lower the tray temperature, and similar considerations can be applied to pressure. Nonsense.
