As the title says! I implore those who are more experienced to understand my situation: after working in the oil refining industry for 10 years, I ended up unemployed – it’s truly unbearable!

By saying that there is no future for certain industries, we mean small enterprises; after all, there is still no better energy source in China that can replace gasoline and diesel at the moment. A few years ago, coking was quite popular, but now some companies are simply dismantling their coking units and converting them into units for residue hydrogenation
Many of the talents in coking have moved on to work in other units.

With the improvement of process technologies and the application of information technology, **efficiency has increased, resulting in a surplus of labor; as a result, foreign oil refining companies have very few employees. Oil remains one of the three major energy sources, so the refining industry is not a declining industry but rather a fundamental one. As long as new energy sources are not widely adopted to replace it, oil will not disappear. As basic industries, they rely on relatively mature technologies; therefore, the average salary in these sectors is not very high. Delayed coking has its own particularities; the combination of catalytic cracking and hydrocracking cannot replace delayed coking. Currently, the quality requirements for petroleum products in China are becoming increasingly stringent; the diesel standards have been raised to National Standard 4. This implies a need to enhance the capacity for the secondary processing of petroleum products, as seen in the increase in hydrogenation facilities and the higher consumption of hydrogen in oil refining. This is a good thing; it is beneficial for the environment.
