In inorganic chemical production, the media involved present no hazards. For some valves that are used infrequently, only once or twice a year, and which are 2 meters or more in height, sometimes even over 4 meters, is it necessary to construct a platform?
Don’t create a platform; you’ll realize how troublesome it is once you need to use it.
It’s not necessary to do it, but it will be a bit troublesome when you need to turn it on/off or make changes. But it can be overcome:$
Over 4 meters long – it’s best to make one. Otherwise, how can it be operated? It’s so high; it’s probably difficult to reach it with a ladder.
Are you stupid? How can anything be done without a platform? Every time, we have to move the ladder; using a crane is even more troublesome. Is it still necessary to establish regulations for this? It seems you only design and don’t carry out the work.
Many of the tools we have on site are missing, so we have no choice but to work by stepping on the pipes. There should be a single pipe and valve. In fact, all of them should be present; it is not allowed to step on pipes with insulation layers.
Personally, I think it’s still necessary to do this. If nothing is done, this space might be taken over by other pipes; when maintenance is needed, it will be difficult to use ladders, and besides, temporary ladders 4 meters high aren’t very stable. Although the working class isn’t afraid of anything, it’s still not good to get injured in accidents. If you think it’s not appropriate to create a platform just for one valve, check if there are any other valves in the vicinity and bring them over; then use several valves together to form an operation platform.
If the valves don’t need to be adjusted frequently, there’s no need for an operation platform. It seems like this isn’t a design prepared by a proper design institute; I wonder what the designers thought. Wouldn’t it be fine to consolidate the piping and valves on one centralized platform?
