I’ve just started working with instrumentation, and I still don’t know what this field is all about. I’d appreciate some guidance from those who are more experienced.

I went to the company for on-site work; they just gave me a set of guidelines and left me to figure things out by referring to those guidelines. Just keep watching for a while. The problem now is that I still don’t know what exactly needs to be done with the instrument, or where to start – I hope some experts can give me some advice.

The problem is. . They don’t assign a mentor at the actual time :(:(
Is it a construction company or a petrochemical company? Construction companies are involved in the installation of instruments, while petrochemical companies are responsible for their maintenance and repair; therefore, it is necessary to learn the basic knowledge of automated instruments.
It’s an oil-related company; it should be related to design. . It seems there is no maintenance or repair. :(:(
First get a copy of the (Instrument Technician’s Manual) written by Le Jiaqian
It’s just reality*; nothing can be kept :(:(
Since it’s a design job. First, understand the data table. There is plenty of knowledge in the data table for you to read. Each type of instrument will have its own data sheet. Just understand the data table thoroughly
It’s about creating the instrument first, and then getting the data sheet for that instrument, right?:):)
