Can liquid at the compressor inlet cause cylinder scoring? Are air valves prone to breaking?

Our factory’s gases contain volatile liquids, and the compressors break down frequently; we need to find the reasons and take action to address this issue.
Harm of liquid presence: 1. It can easily cause liquid hammer accidents； 2. It will cause erosion of the gas valve, leading to rapid failure and damage ； 3. Erosion inside the cylinder, which affects the service life of the cylinder liner and piston. Enhance the drainage of incoming air; if liquid contamination is severe, consider increasing the frequency of drainage, or draining it regularly.
It is very dangerous when a reciprocating compressor has excessive liquid in it; this not only damages the gas valves but also the internal components of the compressor cylinder. Cracks can form in the compressor cylinder, allowing water from the jacket to seep into the cylinder and cause issues such as water contamination. Typically, the liquid separation tank at the inlet is designed to discharge liquid automatically or on a scheduled basis by manual operation~~~
