Dear experts: I have a question to ask. In the alkali production process, ammonium chloride is produced as a by-product. Our company designs packaging machines for ammonium chloride; a vacuum pump and vacuum cups are used to grasp the packaging bags. Inevitably, the vacuum pump draws in ammonium chloride particles that are present in the air. Previously, I used oil to lubricate the rotary vane vacuum pump; the pump needed to be cleaned and its oil changed every little over a month, and it was very dirty inside. Later, an oil-free vane pump was used, but the vanes kept breaking for no apparent reason, and the cause could not be identified. Perhaps a water ring vacuum pump can overcome this problem, but it still requires water, is complex in design, and the water must be replaced after a certain period of time (as the ammonium chloride concentration increases), resulting in waste of water resources. Now I hope to find a permanent solution; I’m wondering if it’s possible to find a filter that can remove the vast majority of ammonium chloride particles from the air, so that only air reaches the vacuum pump and no problems will arise. Ordinary paper filters don’t work well; ammonium chloride passes through them. I was wondering if any experts have any good solutions. Thank you in advance. Also, with my limited knowledge, is it possible to introduce gas into water in order to use the water to absorb ammonium chloride particles? Is there such a type of separator?
