Reasons for oil presence in the expander/recompressor casing

The exhaust expander/recompressor casing is oily – what could be the reason? Both the lubricating oil pressure difference and the seal air pressure difference are set according to the design values. I wonder if any of my friends’ workplaces have expanders/recompressors, and whether oil is used in them? Please give me some advice. Thank you!

Look at the top of the expansion compressor oil tank in your plant; if there is a pipeline leading to the inlet of the pressure-boosting section (usually equipped with a check valve), then it is normal for a small amount of lubricating oil to appear at the outlet of the pressure-boosting section.
