As far as is known, the interior of sulfur-containing steel chimneys also lacks anti-corrosion protection; this is why it is required that the exhaust temperature not be lower than the dew point temperature.

You are referring to dust removal; dew point corrosion is not simply a matter of steam forming water droplets, but rather a problem in which a large amount of sulfur dioxide gets dissolved in those tiny water droplets.
