Design of vertical mixer storage tanks

I have never designed a storage tank with an agitator before. This is a defoamer tank, operating at atmospheric pressure, with a diameter of 1200 and a volume of over 3 cubic meters. Both the top and bottom ends of the tank are elliptical in shape, and the agitator is installed on the upper end along its central axis. I really don’t know where to start; I hope experts can help me: 1. Can I simply design this tank as a regular atmospheric-pressure tank? Should the weight of the mixer be taken into consideration? Torque of the agitator on the tank? Will there be vibration? 2. I saw that there is a lot of data regarding the mixer on SW6; does the manufacturer need to provide all of this information? 3. Can a standard flange be chosen directly for the flanged connection? If flanged flanges are used, is it still necessary to conduct overall reinforcement calculations for the upper head? We are a small team; the experienced engineers originally calculated the wall thickness for atmospheric pressure storage tanks by adding one additional thickness level to the upper and lower end caps. Standard flanged end caps were chosen for the upper cap, while no other considerations were taken into account. I’m not sure if this approach is appropriate, and I would appreciate everyone’s advice. Thank you!

1. The equipment can be designed for normal pressure, but it needs to be made thicker appropriately, taking into account the impact of the mixing device on the upper head. 2. The mixing power and rotation speed need to be provided by the customer. 3. Once the mixing power is determined, the type of reducer is selected; the flange type is determined based on the chosen reducer model. The head is appropriately thickened to ensure that the strength of the upper head is sufficient.

Calculate as a pressure vessel at normal pressure; NBT47003.1: Appropriate extra thickness should be added when calculating the wall thickness

I work in a small team too; can I just use SW6 to do the verification?

Provide the rotation speed, material viscosity, impeller diameter, type, and tank geometry, and I can help you calculate the mixing power, analyze the head thickness, determine the shaft diameter, and assess the strength of the impellers! QQ:491851118

Based on the condition of the materials and the size of the reactor vessel, the mixer is designed first, and relevant data are generated; Design the tank based on the mixing data!
