No consumption of compressed air – most users do not require a very low dew point for compressed air; therefore, using a cold dryer can result in energy savings compared to using a desiccant dryer; 2. No valve wear – Desiccant dryers have switching valves, and although refrigerated dryers also contain valves, there is basically no issue with wear ; 3. There is no need to regularly add or replace the adsorbent ; 4. Low operating noise ; The desiccant dryer produces noise due to pressure release in its adsorption tower; inside the air compressor room, the operating noise of the cold dryer is generally not audible ; 5. Daily maintenance is simple; simply clean the filter of the automatic drainer on time ; 6. The pre-treatment requirements for the air source are not high; a standard oil-water separator is sufficient to meet the air quality requirements of the refrigerated dryer. Compared to cold dryers, suction dryers have the following advantages: 1. Low pressure dew point and excellent drying performance. The lowest pressure dew point can reach -70℃ ; 2. It causes no pollution to the atmosphere; cold dryers use refrigerants (CFCs) for cooling, which can cause severe atmospheric pollution ; The desiccant dryer uses adsorbents, causing no pollution to the atmosphere. Since the \"pressure dew point\" that a cold dryer can achieve for compressed air treatment is only around 10°C, the degree of drying of the gas is far inferior to that of an adsorption dryer; in many applications, a cold dryer cannot meet the requirements regarding the dryness level of the gas supply specified by the process. A convention has emerged in the technical community: when a “pressure dew point” requirement is above zero, a cold dryer is the preferred choice ; When the “pressure dew point” requirement is below zero, a desiccant dryer is the only option.
The purpose of some cold dryers is simply to lower the temperature, to around 10 degrees Celsius. It is also used for preliminary dehydration with a desiccant machine, followed by further deep dehydration using the same desiccant machine~~
