We use Atlas screw compressors for primary compression; there is no need for oil removal at this stage. Oil removal is carried out on the piston compressors in the subsequent stage. After the compressed air exits the screw compressor, it goes to an oil-gas separation tank, which does provide a separation effect. But what is roughly the level of oil content in your case?
Just add an oil filter to the instrument air pipeline; you can give it a try.
There are many reasons for oil presence at the back end; it could be related to low-pressure operation in terms of processing, or it might be due to the location of the oil and return oil pipes in terms of the equipment
Ingersoll Rand models have a coarse filter and a fine filter; perhaps the separation efficiency of the filters has decreased. Also check whether the return oil line of the filter is unobstructed
It’s originally an oil-injected type, so it’s impossible to have absolutely no oil. Furthermore, the design pressure of such compressors is generally above 6 kilograms; compared to compressors designed for low pressures, their oil tanks and separators are certainly not as effective. If you really want to remove this, the only option is to add another fine filter. These are actually related to the actual manufacturing processes and compressor selection from the very beginning. An absolutely oil-free compressor must be a centrifugal compressor; sliding vane compressors can theoretically have no oil content (within 3 ppm), while screw compressors likely have more than 10 ppm of oil.
What are the uses of compressed gas? Instrument air, plant air, process air? There are different requirements for the oil content in compressed gases ; Different compressor types: 1. Oil-injected screw compressors: Operate properly with oil; the internal circulation system is equipped with an oil separator. If oil content specifications are required, an additional oil filter needs to be installed at the outlet, depending on the requirements of the downstream system ; 2. Oil-free screw compressors rely on synchronous gears to drive the twin screws, with a gap between the two screws. Synchronous gears require oil lubrication, and there are multiple seals between the synchronous gears and the rotor. If an oil-free screw compressor leaks oil, it may be due to the aging or damage of the oil seal, allowing oil to leak to the rotor side.
