Which manufacturer is your orifice plate from? The manufacturer will provide a calculation sheet! Just check it according to the calculation sheet! Also, the range can be changed! First, when adjusting the range, make sure that there is no deviation in the relationship between the design flow rate and the differential pressure for your orifice plate!
There are international standards for the design and calculation of orifice plates; by following these standards in terms of calculation, manufacturing, installation, and use, the designed accuracy can be achieved. The most reliable source is undoubtedly the manufacturer’s calculation sheet for the orifice plate. Sending an orifice plate for testing is a waste of money; the people in charge of measurement don’t understand how orifice plates work at all. At most, they will measure the diameter of the orifice plate and then use software to determine a range of values, giving you an official document – a calibration certificate. Trust this paper? It might conflict with the manufacturer’s calculations again – isn’t that inviting trouble?
All flow meters have a certain range of operation, and as long as they are calibrated in accordance with the relevant regulations, there should be no problems.
The range of 2-10 is only the range you use; the flow meter itself can measure over a wider range. Calibration takes into account the full measurable range of the flow meter.
