We are using heat-free regenerative dryers manufactured by Hangzhou Shanli Purification Equipment Factory. Now we need to replace the molecular sieve, but the manufacturer claims that the specifications of this molecular sieve are confidential and that it must be purchased from them. I’m asking everyone: what are the typical specifications for such molecular sieves?
Warranty period? If it’s past the warranty period, use ordinary alumina – don’t be deceived by the manufacturer
Oh, I called the manufacturer, and they said it’s a matter of technical confidentiality. We’ve had ours for four years and plan to replace it.
By the way, is this type of molecular sieve produced in China? It’s still better to buy imported ones, such as German BF or Japanese Takeda products.
Since they are the manufacturer of dryers, it’s impossible for both the equipment and the dryers to be produced by the same company. I have replaced the alumina in the desiccant units; those from abroad seem to have higher strength compared to domestic ones, and they don’t disintegrate as easily. As for performance, I replace them every year here, but I haven’t noticed any difference in their effectiveness
Bundled sales are appearing now; the equipment manufacturers install what we buy, and now when we want to replace it they won’t provide the model number. They say it’s fine to purchase directly from them, but this is clearly an attempt to charge a high price; there’s nothing we can do about it at the moment.
Active alumina molecular sieves are commonly used; it depends on what particle size is employed The typical replacement cycle is around 2 years; replacing it once a year is too frequent, and it’s likely no longer usable after 3 years!
There is a two-year construction period in between, so I’m worried that the quality of the molecular sieve might not be good enough, and I want to replace it!
I agree with you. I think the quality of an adsorbent can be reflected directly under operating conditions.
