As the title suggests, it would be best to provide the basis.
A slow-closing check valve is used to prevent water hammer; a simple check valve is not sufficient.
The one-way check valve and the non-return valve on the 2nd floor seem to be valves with different structures, although both serve the purpose of preventing backflow.
