There is a leak at the inlet of the black water pipe due to the high flash point of the Texaco gasification slag water – can operations continue?
There’s a leak at the short section of the high-flash drum and the black water inlet pipe!
I gave it a try, but this product isn’t very effective at sealing leaks; it works for about a week at first, but over time it can no longer hold the leak in!
1. Is there no backup pipeline? What we design here features a 1:1 backup setup, including pipelines, control valves, and bypasses. 2. A standard backup bypass should be installed between the control valve and the final shut-off valve; it should be prepared in advance so that it can be replaced promptly once the pipeline switching is completed.
I hope my personal suggestions will be taken into consideration; please point out any mistakes if there are any. 1. Prepare the welding machine and the materials (a buffer tank approximately 1.5m high). 2. Reduce the load on the gasification furnace, lower the system pressure to 1 MPa, and switch the gasification black water and washing black water to true flash mode. 3. On-site, the vaporization and washing units are used for venting the material with a high flash point; the automatic control valve for the gas phase at high flash point is set to 100% in order to release the pressure. 4. Isolate the gasification high flash point valve, install a buffer tank below the gasification high flash point self-regulating valve, and weld the short circuits properly. 5. Cut off water supply to the system, raise pressure to normal levels, and apply load.
Your plan is equivalent to removing the gasification part, and I can’t accept that!
We have had similar cases as well: if the material isn’t removed for vaporization, the valve leading to the stripping tower is opened to 100%, and the on-site vent valve for high-flash point materials is also opened to 100%; the liquid at the high-flash point level is drained, and the pressure at that level is reduced to 0.4 MPa. Yet, leakage still occurs in significant amounts at the site, making it impossible to carry out repair welding. Then let’s see if it’s possible to seal the leak under pressure by using a plug.
