What is the purpose of providing leakage signal indicator holes on the gasket?

Firstly, the signal holes are used for venting gas during welding; that is, as the gas heats up and expands during welding, it causes pressure to build up between the welded plates. With signal holes present, the gas can be effectively vented. Secondly, some clients require inspection of the welding quality, and in such cases pressure is applied to the welding area, with the pressure being applied right at the signal holes.
The main purpose of providing vent holes in the gasket is to prevent the operating temperature of the container from becoming too high, or to avoid situations such as post-weld heat treatment during manufacturing, which could result in a sealed space between the gasket and the container wall; localized stresses would otherwise be generated due to the air trapped in that layer.
