Is it reasonable that Aspen simulation shows that there are almost only two trays in the stripping section?
There is no such thing as reasonable or unreasonable; whatever the calculation yields is what it is. The key is whether the thermodynamic methods used can represent reality. Generally, simulation results need to take into account the binary interaction parameters in order to be close to the actual values. Additionally, plot the concentration curve of the light and heavy components inside the tower to examine their distribution across the tray layers and look for any jumps.
