Among them, the survey of the graphite deposits in Linkou County, carried out by the Sixth Geological Survey Institute of Heilongjiang Province, identified 5 mineral belts; the estimated reserves of graphite in these deposits amounted to 34 million tons, classifying them as super-large graphite deposits – a resource scale that is rare in China. Currently, the total amount of graphite mineral resources in Mudanjiang exceeds 45 million tons, making it a major graphite-producing region rather than just a location where graphite is found. At the same time, in an effort to develop and strengthen new brands, Mudanjiang has planned 14 graphite industry projects. A new material limited company is planning a project to extract and process 1 million tons of graphite ore per year, with an investment of 800 million yuan intended for the construction of a base for graphite extraction, processing, and further refinement. This year, 200 million yuan will be invested in building a project for the processing and further refinement of 1 million tons of graphite per year. Currently, mining, ore processing, and land acquisition work are underway. It is reported that Mudanjiang City has also taken advantage of the three-year special geological exploration campaign across the province to increase investment in basic geological exploration. To date, 22 geological exploration projects have been successfully applied for; among them, 5 are related to graphite exploration, and 49.013 million yuan in financial support from Heilongjiang Province has been secured.
