Hello, at the site, one of the bearings in the Roots pump is damaged. After replacing the bearing, it was found that the two rotors were touching each other. Is it because the positions of the two rotors are incorrect? Should they be installed in the correct positions? Thank you.
There should be a 1mm gap between the rotors; they must not touch each other!
During installation, a feeler gauge is used to create a gap between the two rotors; one rotor is placed upright while the other is placed horizontally. Also, the rotor should not make contact with the inner wall of the pump casing; there should be a gap of around 0.8, so please pay attention to this.
After replacing the bearings, must the two rotors be aligned at 90 degrees before the drive gears can be installed?
