I would like to ask the experienced colleagues: is it necessary to add a primer before applying lead electrolyte, and if so, how much should be used?
Before turning on the power, add the amount of glue needed for the day to the solution system and ensure thorough mixing for uniform distribution. After normal operation, regular replenishment is sufficient.
What is the typical amount to add? How is it calculated? Is it based on the volume of the solution, with the amount in grams per cubic meter?
Additives for electrolytic metal production are added based on consumption, calculated as X g of additive per ton of metal. The specific amount is determined by the properties of the additive; different manufacturers and different types use varying amounts. You can try adding it in a small system to find the appropriate amount. Of course, before doing it, you need to learn about the working principles of various additives, observe phenomena more closely, and research more information – then you’ll be pretty close to getting it right. There are three common additives used in lead electrolysis: bone glue/naphthol/lignin.
