I would like to ask the experts: for an LNG storage tank with a capacity of 50,000 cubic meters, which type is preferable? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each type? ?
I don’t know much about it; just trying to provide some initial insights. Generally speaking, the main type should be single-volume tanks, which are the most commonly used; double-volume tanks are rarely used and not well understood either. Among them, single-volume tanks obviously require lower investment, but they need cofferdams and, in accordance with the latest safety standards, a very large amount of space is required. In addition to steam clouds, factors such as the radiation isolation area around the hot pool also need to be taken into account; if the space requirements are met, it is indeed a considerable area. Full-volume tanks certainly require higher investment, but they don’t need cofferdams and have a much smaller safety distance; if space is limited, I think the only option is to use full-volume tanks. As for double-volume tanks, I really don’t understand them; let those who are more knowledgeable explain.
