Can certified safety engineers take the GK exam?

Seeing so many people taking this exam, is it all for work purposes? Are there also things like first-class construction engineer certification, cost estimation, or fire safety certification that exist just for the sake of obtaining them? How’s the market? How is the security? Please give me some advice!
