Can Q345R steel plates be used for tube sheets?
Just a gentle suggestion: it seems that the choice of material for this heat exchanger depends on your operating conditions, and it may also be related to the material of the tubes used
Steam in the tube side: 1.2 MPa; stripping water in the shell side: 0.7 MPa. The pipes used are 20# stainless steel pipes
I feel that the operating pressure you’re dealing with isn’t very high; using this material for the tube sheet seems a bit excessive. The tubes and the tube sheet should be joined by expansion fitting, and it’s necessary to ensure that the hardness of the tube sheet is higher than that of the tube ends. The linear expansion coefficients of the tube sheet and the tubes, as well as the temperature difference between the operating temperature and room temperature, must all meet the specified requirements
There’s definitely enough material – steam on the tube side and water on the shell side?
It’s the first time I’ve heard of 20# stainless steel pipes!
