I believe that whether it is the aqueous phase or the organic phase that is continuous, it has little impact on the extraction results; generally, it does have some effect on the oil content in the aqueous phase outlet. It is necessary to avoid situations where the phase ratio is too high or too low, and as long as the oil content in the outlet can be properly monitored and controlled, that’s sufficient. In tank filling, the aqueous phase at this stage is generally filled in first, followed by the addition of the organic phase, and then the process operates continuously according to the established procedure. It should be noted here that it is advisable to have acids or salts in the aqueous phase, as this can reduce emulsification caused by filling the tank.
Generally, the most direct impact of the sequential selection of phases during extraction and back-extraction is entrainment. In principle, we maintain a continuous aqueous phase at the outlet of the organic phase loaded, which helps to reduce the entrainment of water phase into the organic phase. This, in turn, prevents impurities from the entrained water phase from reaching the back-extraction solution, thereby avoiding further impacts on the electrowinning process ; Similarly, maintaining continuity of the organic phase at the effluent end of the raffinate helps to reduce the entrainment of organic phase in the aqueous phase, thereby minimizing losses due to such entrainment. Moreover, if the entrained organic phase returns to the leaching stage, it may have an impact on the leaching process that uses bacterial leaching, potentially affecting bacterial activity. To maintain phase continuity: 1. The stirrer should be located within the dispersed phase when starting the mixing tank; 2.
