Segmented degreasing is relatively simple, but it presents the problem of secondary contamination, requiring protective measures. Based on experience, it is advisable to first degrease the valve and then seal its valve port; it should not be installed on the pipeline yet. After that, the entire pipeline section should be degreased using carbon tetrachloride, and only after that can the valve be installed on the pipeline.
Degrease first before installation; there is a risk of secondary contamination, but it’s not convenient to do so. Installing it first without degreasing may result in incomplete cleaning, but the system remains intact and easier to operate
In our company, it is better to first degrease the pipes and valves before installing them, so as to ensure there are no dead corners; otherwise, after installation, degreasing may still be necessary in those areas where dead corners exist.
