Which type of scratch, circumferential or axial, has a lesser impact on a radial sliding bearing? How is the oil film damaged?
Axial scratches have a lesser impact, while radial scratches may affect the proper formation of the oil film.
I asked the master in the workshop, and he said that scratches perpendicular to the direction of rotation affect the formation of the oil film
One can think of water flow; the impact of going with the current is minimal.
It depends on the depth of the scratch; a deep one definitely has an impact.
