LNG vaporizer equipment fills a gap in China’s market 2016/03/14 Source: China Petroleum News, China Petroleum Network (Reporter: Li Changwang) On March 7, the first domestically produced LNG submerged combustion type vaporizer (SCV) in China – an SCV unit with a capacity of 200 tons per hour – was put into use at a LNG receiving station in Jiangsu. Developed and manufactured jointly by Bohai Equipment Liaohe Thermal Recovery Machinery Company, Jiangsu LNG Co., Ltd., and China National Petroleum Corporation, this device has been operating smoothly for over a month now. The SCV unit is the core equipment for liquefied natural gas vaporization, used to meet the peak-shaving needs of LNG receiving stations during winter. To date, the LNG vaporization units for the LNG receiving stations built in our country have all been imported from abroad. To change this situation, in April 2014, Bohai Equipment Liaohe Thermal Recovery Machinery Company, Jiangsu LNG Co., Ltd., and China Global Engineering Corporation officially launched a joint research effort to localize the SCV units. Through the relentless efforts of the technical staff, core components such as submerged burners, jet-type flue gas distributors, flexible-supported counterflow heat exchangers, and baffles were developed independently ； An innovatively designed premixed twin-spiral volute proportional burner has been developed, enabling high-intensity combustion in small spaces with low nitrogen oxide emissions; it meets the technical requirements such as high combustion intensity, a large load adjustment range, and strict environmental protection standards. After this device was put into official use, on-site monitoring showed that all its functions operated normally, fully meeting the requirements of the LNG gasification process; as a result, its development achievements passed the technical evaluation conducted by the group company.
