RT: It measures the gas flow rate and converts it to standard cubic units. Some flow meters use 0°C as the reference temperature, while others use 20°C – so what is the correct value?
Some devices are set to 20°C and 1 atmosphere, which forced us to check them all.
I think there must be some rules or established practices; otherwise, it would be necessary to specify what the standard conditions are. Chemically, it is 0°C, and this should be taken as the standard.
The standard conditions for gases are generally assumed to be 0°C and 1 standard atmosphere. The standard conditions for gases are also 20°C, but if these conditions are applicable, it will be specified explicitly; otherwise, the default values are usually 0°C and 1 standard atmosphere.
All of them are acceptable; in practical applications, it should be specified in the meter’s parameter settings as the measurement standard adopted by your company, such as at 20°C and 1 atmosphere pressure, or at 0°C and 1 atmosphere pressure.....
Different industries have different regulations regarding normal conditions. Taking the natural gas-related industries as an example, the natural gas pipeline transportation industry stipulates that 20°C and 1 standard atmosphere be used as the standard operating conditions for calculating gas flow rates ; The urban gas industry stipulates that 0°C and 1 standard atmosphere be used as the standard operating conditions for calculating low-pressure gas flow rates (using diaphragm meters).
There is the standard condition at 0°C, expressed in Nm3/h, and the standard condition at 20°C, expressed in Hm3/h. These two are the most common; especially the standard condition at 0°C (Nm3/h) is generally used.
