What can be used to remove the dark color from leather wastewater without causing an odor?

An effective process for removing color and SS from leather wastewater is chemical coagulation and sedimentation; the reagents used—lime + ferrous sulfate + PAM—are very effective: over 90% of the color can be removed, more than 40% of the COD can be reduced, and 95% of the SS can be removed. It should be noted that lime must be added first, followed by ferrous sulfate and then PAM; the amounts to be used are determined through laboratory tests. If possible, adding some quaternary ammonium salt decolorizers before PAM will yield better results. Using ozone also yields better results, but the operating costs are relatively high.
Ozone works better! However, the cost is slightly higher.
